About the Project

We are particularly indebted to the Hart County Historical Society, Hart County Museum, and the members of Remembering Munfordville for their support and assistance.

Munfordville Stories is an expansion of the Old Munfordville Walking Tour. Development of the cultural heritage Web site and cell phone tour was undertaken by the City of Munfordville/Tourism with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kentucky Oral History Commission to promote awareness of the city’s rich history, historic architecture, and traditions. Twenty nine community members shared their stories, memories, and insights, and twelve local teens became the voice of Munfordville as they narrated the cell phone tour.
Oral History interviews were conducted by Judy Sizemore, Joanna Hay, and Bob Gates
