Stop #4 - The Hart County Deposit Bank Building

The Hart County Deposit Bank Building was the first banking facility built in Munfordville, the county seat.  Built around 1895,it is one of five remaining commercial buildings in the Victorian style and one of two with cast iron pillars.

The building is three bays wide on the second floor and four bays wide on the first, which features cast iron pilasters at the end and slender colonettes separating the bays.  The second floor windows have heavy cornices.  The building sits on a native stone foundation.  It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Certified Kentucky Landmark.
